The alleged observation of October 9, 1954, in Cloyes-sur-le-Loir is briefly mentioned by "Michel Carrouges" in 1963, and in 1979, ufologists Michel Figuiet and Jean-Louis Ruchon gave a summary, indicating that it came from the newspaper La Nouvelle République du Centre-Ouest for October 11, 1954, and from the Belgian bulletin of the GESAG ufology group, UFO Info, #34 of March 1974.
At 7:30 p.m., Jack Legeay, 14, an apprentice plumber, who was riding his bike on the road from Cloyes-sur-le-Loir to Montigny-le-Gannelon, saw a "ball of fire", 2 meters in diameter, posed on the road, with a black silhouette visible in the center of the object.
Frightened and unable to back up - but without evidence that he was really paralyzed - the witness reportedly called for help, and the object reportedly have "quickly disappeared in the air."
The case in its Figuet / Ruchon version will be largely cited by other ufology sources thereafter, but without anything else being added.
[Ref. mcs1:] "MICHEL CARROUGES":
Michel Carrouges indicates that the Legeay sighting lasted a few minutes, and that it is a case in which the witness or witnesses reported black silhouettes or human forms inside the UFO.
[Ref. fru1:] MICHEL FIGUET AND JEAN-LOUIS RUCHON:
These two authors and ufologists indicate that October 9, 1954, at 07:30 p.m., between Cloyes-sur-le-Loir and Montigny-le-Gannelon, in the department of Eure et Loir, Jack Legeay, aged 14, apprentice plumber who circulated on his bicycle on the road which leads from Cloyes-sur-Loir to Montigny-le-Gannelon, saw a "ball of fire" posed on the road, its diameter being of two meters. A black silhouette was visible in the center of the object.
Frightened and unable to move back, the witness called for help. The object "quickly disappeared in the air." The authors indicate that it should be noted that the witness could not move back, but that does not necessarily mean that he was really paralyzed.
The authors indicate that the sources are Nouvelle République du Centre Ouest for October 11, 1954; and the G.E.S.A.G. bulletin "U.F.O. Info", March 1974, #34, page 9.

The author indicates that on October 9, 1954, at 7:30 p.m., between Cloyes-sur-le-Loir and Montigny-le-Gannelon, Eure-et-Loir, Jack Legeay, 14 years old at the time, rode a bicycle in direction of Montigny when he suddenly saw a kind of ball of fire posed on the roadway, of a dimension estimated at two meters in height approximately. A black silhouette was visible in the center of the phenomenon. Frightened, the witness, apparently paralysed, called for help. Then, the object disappeared in the air.

Around 7:30 p.m., between Cloyes and Montigny-lé-Gannelon, a 14-year-old young man, an apprentice plumber, observed a sphere two meters in diameter lying on the road. In the center of this sphere he distinguished a black silhouette.
The witness was riding a bicycle when the apparition imposed itself on him. He later described a kind of "ball of fire". When he saw this silhouette in the center of the object, he was paralyzed because he could not move back.
This scenario is consistent with the numerous cases of humanoid appearances throughout France. It confirms the presence of ufonauts in our regions for almost two months.
