According to the ADRUP ufology group, the regional newspaper Le Bien Public for October 12, 1954, reported that in the afternoon and evening of October 9, 1954, dozens of people "absolutely worthy of faith" claimed to have seen in Châlon and Mâcon, "one of those famous 'sub-cups' that some claim to be flying."

It go on... [sic] The epidemic of "sauceritis" seems to increase its deeds in the Saône et Loire. Saturday, in the afternoon and in the evening, several dozens people, absolutely trustworthy, claimed to have seen in Châlon and in Mâcon, one of those famous "undercups" that some claim to be flying.
