In 1979, the "skeptical" ufologists Gérard Barthel and Jacques Brucker said that there was a case on October 7, 1954, at 08:15 p.m., in Vibraye, and that their investigation resulted in the result: "witness cannot be found."
[Ref. bbr1:] GERARD BARTHEL AND JACQUES BRUCKER:
The two authors note this case of October 7, 1954:
"Vibraye - 72 - 08:15 p.m.: witness untraceable after investigation."
The "investigations" of Gérard Barthel and Jacques Brucker are often presented like this: an almost total lack of information.
We do not know where they got the report from, there is no indicated source, we do not know what "explanation" they have in mind, we do not know what was the nature of the case before their "discoveries", nothing is known about witnesses etc., etc.
What would we hear if a "proponent" ufologist presented one of his "investigations" like this...
My conclusion for now: totally insufficient information.
