Summary:

In 1997, french ufologist and author Jean Sider indicated in his book about the 1954 French flap that he learned in an article of the local newspaper La Voix Réolaise, of Réol, page 1, for October 9, 1954, that on October 6, 1954, at 10:00 p.m., near Saint-Hilaire-de-la-Noaille, in the department of Gironde, Albert Dilange, truck-driver in Esseintes and working for the Cooperative of Mesterrieux, was driving his vehicle in company of Robert Descos.

When they arrived at the locality "La Forêt", on the community of Saint-Hilaire, they saw in the light of the headlights a strange object blocking the road, a reinflated disc of approximately five to six meters in diameter and two meters in height.

Mr. Dilange stopped short, but before the two men could detail the machine, it flew away vertically and disappeared while emitting phosphorescent gleams of various colors.
