In their book on "close encounters" in France in 1979, the two ufologists Michel Figuet and Jean-Louis Ruchon mentioned that on October 5, 1954, two railwaymen at the station of Valence in the Drôme had observed during the night a saucer-shaped object moving in the sky.
Figuet and Ruchon just said that the source was their "personal archive." However, we learn by the bulletin UFO Informations #34 of 1981; which gives the same information on the observation, that the source was the newspaper Le Dauphiné Libéré for October 7 1954. But nothing more wil be learned since.
