In their 1979 book, ufologists Michel Figuet and Jean-Louis Ruchon said that they found in an article by the newspaper La Montagne for October 8, 1954 that "several trustworthy witnesses" reported that on October 3, 1954 at 7:00 p.m. in Neuvy-Coulandon-Marigny in the Allier, they saw "something strange" above Neuvy and the neighboring localities of Coulandon and Marigny.

Michel Figuet found in an article of the newspaper La Montagne for October 8, 1954 that "several witnesses in good faith" reported that on October 3, 1954 at 07:00 P.M., in Neuvy-Coulandon-Marigny in the department of Allier, they saw "something weird" above Neuvy and the nearby localities of Coulandon and Marigny.

Luc Chastan indicates that in the Allier in Neuvy on October 3, 1954 at 19:00 hours, several witnesses in good faith ensure to have seen "something odd" above Neuvy and the localities close to Coulandon and Marigny. There is no other precision on this observation that Mr. Figuet found in an article published by La Montagne for October 8, 1954.
