Reference for this case: 54-Peyrins.
Please cite this reference in any correspondence with me regarding this case.

Summary:

In his 1979 book on the close encounters in France, ufologist Michel Figuet indicated that in 1954, in the village of Peyrins, near Romans, in the Drôme, a farmer had seen a cigar-shaped object posed on the ground, resting on two feet in the front, while two forceps maneuvering in the back.

Figuet specified that it was the witness's parents who reported this to him, the witness refused to testify to him when he wanted to investigate.

In 1980, citing Figuet, the U.F.O. Informations bulletin indicated the date as September 30, 1954.

Reports:

[Ref. fru1:] MICHEL FIGUET AND JEAN-LOUIS RUCHON:

The two ufologists and authors indicate that in 1954, in the village of Peyrins close to Romans in the department of Drôme, a farmer saw an object in the shape of a cigar posed on the ground, resting on two feet at its front, while two grips operated at its back.

The two authors specify that it was the parents of the witness who reported the observation, while the witness refused to testify with Michel Figuet who wanted to investigate.

The source is said to be an investigation by Michel Figuet.

Explanations:

Map.

The witness refusing to speak, and the data being rather meager, the credibility and the strangeness of this case - though unexplained - are rather weak.
