On his website Base OVNI France, ufologist Luc Chastan published around 2005 an observation of which he gave the source as Le Dauphiné Libéré - publication date unspecified.
He indicated that in Ain in Confrançon, on September 30, 1954, at about 7 p.m., a family of farmers feeling themselves watched was surprised to observe an incandescent object of vague shape moving rapidly from the Northeast to the Southwest towards the hamlet of Vaudrenant. This was visible for about 30 seconds.
[Ref. lcn1:] LUC CHASTAN:
Luc Chastan indicates that in the Ain in Confrançon, on September 30, 1954, at 19:00 hours, "In the twilight, towards 19 o'clock a family of farmers going 'épiller' [sic, ?] had the surprise to observe an incandescent object of vague form moving quickly from the North to the Southwest in direction of the hamlet of Vaudrenant. The object was visible approximately 30 seconds."
Luc Chastan indicates that the source is "Le Dauphiné Libéré".
