In the 1990's, French ufologist and author Jean Sider said he in an article from the newspaper Le Vendômois, of Vendôme, page 3, for October 7, 1954, that on October 2, 1954, in Azé in the department of Loir-et-Cher, ...
... "Mr. and Mrs. Bredon, resident of Azé, at the location Belles Everies, write to us: 'Saturday October 2, at 08:30 p.m., we saw above our garden, at five or six meters in altitude, a machine in the shape of a sausage, of firy orange color. It was flat as we could note it when it moved in front of our eyes. In half an hour time, the "sausage" landed behind the wall of our garden, in a small rattling noise! When the net day morning we went on the spot, we did not find anything'."
Two years later, the "skeptical" ufologist Renaud Leclet noted this case in a list of cases that could actually have been helicopter sightings.

The author lists an observation in Azé in the Loir-et-Cher on October 2, 1954 at 20:30 as "very near", approximately 5 meters, "then lands" of a "Fire orange cylinder." He notes that Azé is in the valley of the brook of the Boulon.
He indicates that his source is "Lumières Dans La Nuit" magazine number 319 on page 9.

Luc Chastan indicates in his database that in the Loir et Cher in Azé on October 2, 1954 at 20:30 hours, "a fire orange cylinder was observed during half an hour, it was with less than 5 meters in height, then landed."

It was flat as we could see when it moved in front of our eyes. Within half an hour, the "sausage" landed behind our garden wall, in a small noise of scrap metal!
When the next morning at dawn we went to the scene, we found nothing."

One particular helicopter would be a good candidate, the SNCASO SO.1110 Ariel II:

The SNCASO SO.1110 Ariel II flew from 1949 on, but it should be noted that there were only two of them built. There was an Ariel I and an Ariel III, but the Ariel II seems to have been the only one to have had this orange painting.
