Summary:

In the 1990's, French ufologist and author Jean Sider learned in an article from the newspaper La Nouvelle République du Centre-Ouest for September 30, 1954, that on September 29, 1954, at 01:20 p.m., in La Riche, Tours, in the Indre-et-Loire, Gustave Rouillard and Roger Blaquement, employed at the House Jacquet of Tours, saw from their truck which circulated on the way to Sables, on the other side of the river Cher, a flattened ball as luminous as the sun, which dazzled them.

It rose almost vertically but on a slope towards the south, from a field of La Gloriette where it had been landed. This zone belongs to the commune of La Riche.

Citing the same Press source, the Touraine Insolite website indicated in 2009 in addition that the truck was on the "chemin des sables", that the ball was "6 to 7 m wide and 1m to 1.5 m high,", and rose almost vertically, but turning to the south.

About 2016, the British "skeptical" ufologist Peter Rogerson recorded the case, as coming from the Belgian ufology group GESAG citing the same Presse sources - but misspelled by Rogerson. The place is now Tours, Roger Blaquement changed to Roger Braquemont, Gustave Rouillard changed to Mr. Rouillard, and the sighting distance is said to be 500 or 600 meters.
