The ufology bulletin Vimana 21, of the ufology group A.D.R.U.P. of the Côte-d'Or department, in issue 10-11 of the 3rd quarter of 1982, transcribed the articles on the flying saucers published in 1954 in the regional newspaper Le Bien Public. For October 6, 1954, this newspaper reported that in Autun, several people "said they saw a kind of big luminous ball slowly moving weirdly in the sky."
"Autun" was recorded as a September 29, 1954, sighting location in the catalog of Jacques Vallée published in his 1966 book "Les Phénomènes Insolites de l'Espace", with no toerh information than the sighting date of September 29, 1954.

Possibly the September 29, 1954, meteor, about 08:30 p.m.
The information is insufficient to be certain of that: how slowly did the ball move, in what direction, how long did it last? Etc.
