In the 2000s, Jérôme Choloux, who publishes the website Les Mystères de Vendée, reported that in the regional newspaper La Vendée Libre for October 31, 1954, flying saucers over La Faute sur Mer on October 28, 1954 were reported:
Flying saucers are said to have been seen, Thursday evening, at 9 p.m., by Mr. Jules Robin, on the one hand, and by Misters André Lavaud and Jacky Joly, on the other hand. The mobile in question is said to have disappeared quickly in the direction of the south-east.
