In the 2010s, a German ufology database on the Web indicated that there was an observation of the type "Nocturnal Light(s)" in Cambresis on September 27, 1954.
I initially did not find anything else about this, except that someone said on a web forum that an article in the newspaper La Voix du Nord for October 2, 1954, was titled "Musical top in the sky of the Cambresis".
The beginning of the article reporteldy said:
"Flying saucers have had their time, the cauliflower's vogue has barely reached its peak, and the buckets are already in favor in the other country, and in Cambrai, the era of musical tops has opened. It is at least to this child's toy that a carpenter from Saint-Hilaire compares the luminous "thing" of a coral pink he has just seen moving over the national road 39 towards Le Cateau..." (And the rest is missing.)
Later, I found that the Paris-Presse newspaper for October 3, 1954, reported:
"A carpenter from the Cambrésis saw a coral pink 'musical spinning top' in the sky".
In 2020, I obtained the article from La Voix du Nord for October 2, 1954; which reported on page 5 under the headline "Musical spinning top in the sky of the Cambrésis...":

It is at least to this child's toy that a carpenter from Saint-Hilaire compares the luminous "thing" of a coral pink that he has just seen evolving above the national road 39 towards the Cateau.
All the same disturbing fact: a mason from Quiévy saw the "thing" at the same time as did his teammate who lives in St-Hilaire. The three men were indeed driving a short distance from each other.
Their statements are identical: the "thing" was elliptical; its largest axis could be two meters. It trailed behind a dazzling white light.
Their good faith seems complete.

Riding a bicycle near the Herbécourt plateau, Mr. Coulon, residing in Cléry-sur-Somme, reportedly saw, last Monday, at 06:30 p.m., a very luminous celestial body of a bright red, reminding in profile the now classic shape of a large cigar.
The craft was 10 km away about the northwest of Péronne and was slowly moving east at 5 or 600 meters in height.
Mr. Coulon did not notice any smoke or trail.

We did not yet see a flying saucer land on Orly airfield. It is a very sad. But one of them, if we believe two roadmasters, landed in a field not far from the airfield of Quinay-Voisins, near Melun.

A carpenter from the Cambrésis saw in the sky a "musical spinning top", of coral pink color, two cyclists from Montceau-les-Mines witnessed the take-off of a "dark yellow cigar" and an Englishwoman from Halifax said that she had seen "flying yellow-tailed beer cans..." In Perth, Scotland, two women claim to have seen flying "snails" and, in Jordan, a flying cigar with strong light resembling neon lighting would have crossed the sky. Finally, one of our readers, Mr. Lucien Bordet, assures us that Thursday at 7:30 p.m., a "sphere" descended from the sky to land near him on the Bagatelle sports ground. There came out three gnomes, one of which was "a woman with six breasts". They danced a ballet around him...

Of course "Cambrésis" is not a city or location but the name of the region around Cambrai.
