The regional newspaper La République du Centre for October 28, 1954, reported that in Châteaudun, several railway workers and two employees of the S.N.C.A.N. saw a luminous ball on the tracks, near the crossing of the road of Orleans.
Believing in a hoax, they ran towards the machine, but it began to move, veered into a field and "vanished."
