In a general catalog of observations of the Gironde written by the Bordeaux section of the CFRU, published in the ufology magazine Ouranos in the fourth quarter of 1973, it is said that according to the newspaper Sud-Ouest of September 28, 1954, the following observation took place:
On September 25, 1954, at 07:30 p.m. in Beutre, Mr. Pierre Debaj was on the D106 departmental road, coming back from Andernos, and saw a luminous ball, leaving a red trail, crossing the sky at a very fast pace from north to south.
