October 25, 1954, Saint-Samson, Morbihan:

Summary:

In his 1969 catalog of "UFO landings", ufologist Jacques Vallée noted that at the approximate date of October 25, 1954, in Plémet in France, "A. Treussard and a friend were almost blinded by a luminous disc landing in a meadow." Jacques Vallée did not specify his source.

This brief summary was recopied many times as is, and it is only in 1997 that Jean Sider gave in his book on the 1954 French wave richer information; which he found in the local newspaper Les Nouvelles du Morbihan, of Vannes, for October 27, 1954, on page 6:

This newspaper reported that "Monday" - thus at the exact date of October 25, 1954 - around 07:30 p.m., Mr. André Treussart (not Treussard), Place de la Riade, in Plémet, driver at Mr. Eugène Nouet's, entrepreneur, Place du Monument, in Plémet, went, accompanied by a sailor, aboard the ship "L'Oeil d'Argus", to Saint-Samson, to look for cement of Loire.

A few kilometers before arriving at Saint-Samson, at a place called La Mi-Voix, André Treussart was blinded by a powerful light to the point that he put his headlights in low power mode.

The two men then clearly saw "a very bright disc that moved about five meters high and a hundred meters from the truck. The craft was down in a field near the road."

Mr. Treussart and his companion immediately stopped and contemplated, on the edge of the embankment, a craft in the shape of a boat, with jagged edges, about four to five meters. From its center came a reddish glow with blue threads. Above, a brilliant disk such as a projector was distinguished at about five meters in height. No noise was perceived.

The two young men did not dare to come nearer and drove away, and a few moments later, they saw again a strong light on the right side of the road; which would correspond to the departure of the craft.

[Ref. gal1:] CHARLES GARREAU AND RAYMOND LAVIER:

From a newspaper clipping of their personal files, the two ufologists report that a landing occurred on October 27, 1954, in Plemet [sic] in the Côtes-du-Nord.

André Treussard who went in Morbihan accompanied by a friend was close to La Chère when they were suddenly dazzled by a shining disc, so much that they had to stop.

Within 100 meters approximately of their car, they saw in a field a machine in the shape of boat, of a length from 4 to 5 meters. The two men did not dare to approach. The machine flew away almost at once. In Treglamus (50 km in the NW) [but 2 days later] several people saw a similar machine.

[Ref. fru1:] MICHEL FIGUET AND JEAN-LOUIS RUCHON:

The two authors indicate that on October 27, 1954, at an unspecified hour, in Plémet, André Treussard and a friend who remained anonymous went to the Morbihan when they were suddenly dazzled by a shining disc.

They stopped, and observed within 100 meters of their vehicle a luminous craft in the shape of boat posed on the road.

They did not dare to approach, and the machine took off almost at once.

The two authors indicate that their sources are the Vallée catalogue, which roughly dates the case as of October 25, 1954, and the book by Garreau and Lavier which dates as of October 27, 1954.

Jean Sider discovered this case of October 25, 1954, at 07:30 p.m., in Saint-Samson in Morbihan, through an article of the newspaper Les Nouvelles du Morbihan for October 27, 1954, on page 6.

Jean Sider gives the content of the article:

Monday, at about 19:30, Mr. André Treussart, place of Riade, in Plémet, driver at Mr. Eugene Nouet's, contractor, place of the Monument, in Plémet, went to edge of the barge "L'Oeil d'Argus" accompanied by a mariner, in St. Samson, to seek Loire cement.

At a few kilometers before arriving at St. Samson (Morbihan), in the locality La Mi-Voix, the driver was blinded by a powerful light, so much so that he put his headlights in low power.

The two men then distinctly saw a disc, very shiny, which evolved at approximately five meters of height and a hundred meters of the truck. The machine landed in a field near the road.

At once, Mr. Treussart and his companion stopped and contemplated on the edge of the slope a machine having the shape of a boat, with notched edges, of approximately four to five meters; in the middle emerged a reddish gleam with blue rays. Above, one clearly distinguished at approximately five meters height, a shining disc as a projector. No noise was perceived. The two young men did not dare to approach more and resumed their travel. A few moments later, they again distinguished a strong light on the right side of the road: the machine disappeared.

PLEMET (COTE D'AMOUR [sic] : FRANCE)

Andre Treussard and a friend were driving from Morbihan, when near a place called La Chere [sic], they were blinded and forced to stop by a blinding light. It came from a "boat shaped " object 4-5m long, in a meadow, 100m away. They did not dare go any closer and the thing took off almost immediately.

Explanations:

Carte.

Saint-Samson is a former commune of the Morbihan department, now integrated to Rohan.

Plémet, and not "Plemet" as almost all sources wrote, is not in the department of Côtes-du-Nord, even less in the nonexistent "Cote d'Amour", but in the department of the Côtes-d'Armor.

There are 12 km in straight line from Plémet to Saint-Samson. La Mi-Voie is in the Morbihan department at 2.7 km in the North-East of Rohan on the D17 road also called "Beau-Rêve" or "Bel-Air" road:

The place in 2019:

I do not see for sure what the prosaic explanation for this report could be; the least worst explanation could be: a meteor.
