[Ref. jsr1:] JEAN SIDER:

Ufologist and author Jean Sider found in the newspaper Nord-Littoral for October 27, 1954, a reader's letter, the latter having given his name and his address to the newspaper but been asking that they not be published. The reader told of his encounter of October 22, 1954 towards 1 o'clock of the morning between Lille and Calais.

He said he was a tradesman of Calais which returned by car of Lille when he suddenly saw at the top of a hill, a luminous disc which came to land in front of his vehicle. The man violently turned on his left to avoid it, but he said he was not quick enough for a wing of his car bumped against the saucer.

The newspaper published a sketch made by this reader.

This reader asked to remain anonymous because he owned a well known shop in Calais and did not want to attract vexations. The newspaper invited him, but he never turned up.
