In the form of an "amusing" column signed "Bezuquet", the regional newspaper L'Oise-Matin for October 23, 1954, reported that some residents of Bethisy-Saint-Pierre thought they has seen in the sky of the Valley, "the day before yesterday evening", therefore on October 21, 1954, around 8 p.m., "phenomena appearing to them to resemble flying saucers."
The columnist was content to add that "as most of them attended this show on the threshold of the V.B., any comment would be superfluous."
[Ref. lon1:] NEWSPAPER "L'OISE-MATIN":
[... other topics ...]
Some residents of our region thought they saw in the sky of the Valley, the night before yesterday, around 8 p.m., phenomena appearing to them to resemble flying saucers.
As most of them attended this show on the verge of the V.B., any comment would be superfluous.
BEZUQUET
Totally insufficient information.
The "V.B." was likely a bar of the town.
