Ufologist Alain Gamard reportedly indicated that on September 19, 1954, in Ottonville in the Moselle department, a municipal councilor who was returning home on a dark night, allegedly saw an object nearby in a field; which he estimated to be a flying saucer.
An "aeronaut" stood near the machine. The witness approached the "man" with the intention of speaking to him, but "the aeronaut, as soon as he saw him arrive, went back in his machine; which quickly resumed altitude."
The source would be the regional newspaper L'Alsace for September 24, 1954.
