Please cite this reference in any correspondence with me regarding this case.

Summary:

The regional newspaper La Liberté du Morbihan reported on October 21, 1954, that on October 19, 1954, around 6 p.m., students from Saint-Joseph School, who were on Rue Porte-Poterne, saw a red disc at a very high altitude above the Clairet house on Place des Lices.

After remaining stationary for a few seconds, the disc suddenly ascended vertically at great speed, then disappeared in the direction of Auray, leaving behind a cloud of black smoke where it had been.

The three young people, "J.N.T., D.M., G.M.," reported this to their parents in identical terms, and according to their statements, an adult near them had witnessed the phenomenon. The newspaper called on this adult to come forward.

A red disc in the sky over Vannes?

On Tuesday evening, around 6 p.m., students from Saint-Joseph School were on Rue Porte-Poterne when they saw, high above the Clairet house on Place des Lices, a red disc at a very great altitude.

After remaining stationary for a few seconds, the disc suddenly ascended vertically at great speed, then disappeared in the direction of Auray, leaving behind a cloud of black smoke where it had been.

The three young people - J.N.T., D.M., and G.M. - described the scene to their parents in identical terms, and according to their accounts, an adult who was nearby also witnessed the phenomenon.

We would be pleased if this witness would come forward to confirm the statements of the three young people.

The least worst "ordinary" explanation would be a helicopter, but it does not seem very convincing to me.
