According to a ufology catalog of 1973, the newspaper La Montagne for October 20, 1954, reported this observation made on October 19, 1954, between Moulins and Nevers:
One Mr. Peyret, a hairdresser from Clermont-Ferrand, stopped with his friends to observe "a brilliant mass that, at first immobile, moves up and down and from right to left."
[Ref. ldl1:] UFOLOGY MAGAZINE "LUMIERES DANS LA NUIT" :
October 19 (La Montagne for 10/20) between Moulins and Nevers.
Mr. Peyret, hairdresser from Clermont, stops with his friends to observe a brilliant mass which, first immobile, moves up and down and from right to left.
[Ref. ioi1:] "INFO-OVNI" BULLETIN:
Thus, we have in the Allier, for the day of 10/19/1954, a case between Moulins and Nevers... approximation 54 kms.
Since there is no hour, no direction, no other relevant data, it will not be possible to eliminate the possibility of an astronomical misinterpretation, for example.
