An American ufology website noted in the 2000s that on July 19, 1954, at 06:00 p.m. "in Pouilly, France", "A daytime disc was reported."
I did not find anything like this at this date; there was, in the Press, an observation in Pouilly-sur-Vingeanne in the Côte-d'Or, but on June 8, 1952.
There is also a report of "daylight disc" by Jacques Vallée on "July 18 or 19" at "6 p.m." in "Pouilly near Dole", but also in 1952.
[Ref. uda1:] "UFODNA" WEBSITE:
The website indicates that on 19 July 1954 at 18:00 in Pouilly, France, "A daytime disc was reported."
The source is indicated as "Vallee, Jacques, Computerized Catalog (N = 3073)".

The "Pouilly" city name with no other precision does not allow a certain location information as we have:
Pouilly, (and Fuissé, Pouilly-Fuissé vine), in the Saône-et-Loire
Pouilly-le-Fort, in the Seine-et-Marne
Saint-Genis-Pouilly, in the Rhône-Alpes
Pouilly-le-Monial, in the Rhône
Pouilly-lès-Feurs, in the Loire
Pouilly-les-Nonains, in the Loire
Pouilly-sous-Charlieu, in the Loire
Pouilly-sur-Loire, in the Nièvre
Pouilly-sur-Meuse, in the Meuse
Pouilly-sur-Serre, in the Aisne
Pouilly-en-Auxois, in the Côte-d'Or
Pouilly-sur-Saône, in the Côte-d'Or
Pouilly-sur-Vingeanne, in the Côte-d'Or.
In addition, Jacques Vallée indeed mentions a sighting on "July 18 or 19" at "18 hours" in "Pouilly close to Dôle" and also by residents of Venarey, but in 1952, not in 1954. It is not described as a "daytime disc", but "a spindle, having neither wings nor protuberances".
I then found the case dated August 6, 1952, located at Pouilly-sur-Vingeanne in the Côte-d'Or: a witness had observed a "cigar" moving in the sky, at a height of about 2500 m. with sparks behind, and leaving a trail of white smoke about 200 m long, flying at the speed of "an airplane" with "a thundering noise", this being found in ufology bulletin Vimana 21 No. 17 of 1987, quoting the newspaper "Le Bien Public (?) 9.6.52)".
In LDLN N ° 125, it is said that on June 8, 1952, several people observed, for 2 or 3 minutes, above Pouilly-sur-Vingeanne, a cigar-shaped craft, moving in the sky from S to N, with whirring, letting out sparks and a trail. Same event, and yet another date, so.
Finally, I found in Vimana 21 No. 23 of 1986 a photocopy of the article of Le Bien Public, which was for June 9, 1952. There was only one witness, it is at 07:07 p.m.. The date is "yesterday", which would be June 8, 1952. There was another witness in the next day's newspaper.
So: probably the 1952 case, not 1954.

Pouilly, day, disc
