In the ufology bulletin La Ligne Bleue Survolée?, of the Cercle Vosgien Lumières Dans la Nuit (CVLDLN) in 1984, and in the ufology magazine Lumières Dans la Nuit, in 1986, François Diolez published in a regional catalogue a case F/98 8854000 (02) as having taken place in Saulxures-sur-Moselotte, with the shoemaker as witness and as source, an investigation in progress with few elements.
Diolez quoted an unspecified source as stating:
"The shoemaker is said to have seen a UFO and alerted the mayor. Only the school teacher is said to have believed it at the time, he was said to have gone on the location with the children."
Diolez indicated that research is "ongoing on the basis of recent information" and that any complementary information will be included in a forthcoming issue.
