According to the catalog of Luc Chastan on the Web, the newspaper Le Dauphiné Libéré reported that in the Isère department, in Chavanoz on September 17, 1954, at 07:10 p.m., several people had observed in the sky a large ball of fire extended by a trail of smoke.
Three times, this ball has descended to the ground, the fourth time it disappeared in the distance.

Luc Chastan indicates that in the Isère in Chavanoz on September 17, 1954 at 19:10 hours "Several people observed in the sky a large ball of fire prolonged by a trail of smoke. By three times this ball descended to the ground, the fourth time it disappeared in the distance."
