Summary:

According to a catalog published in the ufology magazine Ouranos of the 2^nd quarter of 1973, the newspaper Centre-Matin for October 20, 1954, reported an observation of October 17, 1954, at 05:10 p.m. in Voussac.

A teacher, Mr. Pailler, reportedly observed an elongated cigar-shaped white object with the tip facing forward, which moved in the sky on a "soft and silent" path.

In the wake of the "craft", the witness distinguished "a thin stream of smoke or condensation similar to a bright angel hair," "unless it was an inclined antenna held (at 30 °) by the speed of movement."

This Sunday, Mr. Pailler, a teacher, observed an elongated cigar-shaped white object and the tip forward-facing moving in the sky along a smooth and silent path. In the wake of the craft, the witness discerned a thin stream of smoke or condensation resembling a bright angel hair, unless it was an antenna maintained inclined (at 30°) by the speed of movement. What is remarkable in this series of observations is that all these craft whose exact size could not be assessed were all enormous. [...]

Explanations:

There is no real strangeness here, the only mystery being that it remains impossible to know whether it was a meteor or a high-flying jet plane. The duration might have allowed discriminating between these two possible ordinary explanations, but it was not reported.
