In the 1950s, archivist Guy Guincy had compiled a catalog of UFO sighting reports, scanty, without sources, and not widely distributed.
We find there that, according to him, on September 16, 1954, at 6 p.m. or a little later, in France, in Vermenton in the Yonne department, a dark disc and a "motionless light 10°" were seen, and that'there was a "departure."
[Ref. gqy1:] GUY QUINCY:
September 16 [1954]
06:00+ p.m.: Vermenton (Yonne): dark disc + motionless light 10°, & departure
Totally insufficient information.

Vermenton, Yonne, disc, luminous, light, motionless, departure, dark
