October 16, 1954, Poix, Marne:

Reference for this case: 16-Oct-54-Poix.
Please cite this reference in any correspondence with me regarding this case.

Summary:

In their 1979 book "La Grande Peur Martienne" ("The Great Martian Scare"), the "skeptical" ufologists Gérard Barthel and Jacques Brucker noted this case on October 16, 1954:

"Poix - 80 - 7 p.m.: investigation. Vague luminous phenomenon."

Further in the book, they indicated that they spoke to the witness, that the observation was towards 07:00 p.m., that there are not enough details to identify what he observed, that he spoke about a "very low gleam on the horizon, of an orange red color" within 7 or 8 kilometers, and that he left before the disappearance of the phenomenon.
