The newspaper L'Auvergnat de Paris, of Paris, reported on page 6 for October 23, 1954, that a "spherical shaped craft" had remained in the sky all afternoon on Friday October 15, 1954, seen from Castelfranc and other villages.
[Ref. lap1:] NEWSPAPER "L'AUVERGNAT DE PARIS":
ANGLARS-JUILLAC. - A spherical craft remained in the sky all afternoon on Friday 15 and was sighted from Anglars-Juillac, as well as from Prayssac and Castelfranc.
It was actually a balloon, a big high altitude balloon for cosmic rays study launched by the University of Padua in Italy.
See also what ufologist Aimé Michel said about it in 1958 and the 1968 note about it by ufologist Raymond Veillith.
