In the 1960s, Jacques Vallée listed a case at "Chalon" on OCtober 14, 1954, without giving any other information.
In the 1990s, Jean Sider indicated that in the newspaper La Dépêche - La Liberté, of Saint-Etienne, fir October 16-17, 1954, on page 3, an article reported that on October 14, 1954, around 06:15 p.m., in Chalon-sur-Saône in the Saône-et-Loire department, a group of workers of the Schneider Chantiers, housed in the cantonments close to the plant, clearly saw an orange luminous craft, elongated, silent, which left behind a greenish trace.
The newspaper reportedly told that the witnesses had the impression that it was moving very slowly and that it was maneuvering as if to land in the meadow near the Thermique.
The newspaper reportedly added that this was confirmed by two workers from the yard who were returning to their room in Saint-Germain-du-Plain. The object would have been seen also by many people who, at the same time, from the train station.
