Summary:

A 1984 ufology catalog by the ufology group A.D.R.U.P. of Dijon indicated that according to the newspaper Le Bien Public for October 16-17, 1954, a woman saw in Avot at 06:30 p.m. on October 13, 1954, a "flying saucer passing at the height of the forest. The spherical shape had an orange glow, leaving a trail."

In a previous issue, from the 3rd quarter of 1982, the same magazine had published a clipping of the Dijon regional newspaper Le Bien Public for October 16-17, 1954, in which one learns that the witness was Miss Aurélie Bolnot, of Avot, that the flying saucer passed by the forest on the mountain coming from the West and heading towards the Southeast.

Saucers "at it again" in the Haute-Marne

Chaumont (C.P.). -- The evening before last, at 8:10 p.m. in Vignory and at 10:40 p.m. in Brottes, villages in Haute-Marne, an orange-colored object was seen by various witnesses.

In the first case, the object rose at a dizzying speed into the sky. The second time, it was an employee of the Chaumont bus company, Mr. Taillandier, living in Brottes, who, with his wife and daughter, saw a similar glow moving very fast, coming from Meuilly and heading toward Vignory.

In both cases, no sound was heard. And (what a pity) no hairy-faced Martian with crow-like eyes was reported!

...and in the Côte-d'Or

Miss Aurélie Bolnot, from Avot, stated that as she was leaving her home on Wednesday around 6:30 p.m., she saw a flying saucer passing at the height of the forest on the mountain, coming from the west and heading toward the southeast. The spherical shape had an orange glow, leaving a trail along its path.

SATURDAY, 16 AND SUNDAY I7 OCTOBER [Date of source] - SAUCERS "DO IT AGAIN" IN THE HAUTE MARNE AND COTE D'OR -

Chaumont - The day before yesterday in the evening, at 8:10 p.m., in Vignory and at 10:40 p.m. in Brottes, villages of the Haute Marne, an object of orange color was seen by different witnesses. In the first case, the object rose at a vertiginous pace towards the sky. The second time, it was a bus employee Mr. Taillandier, living in Brottes who, with his wife and their daughter, saw moving very quickly, an identical light coming from Meuilly and heading towards Vignory. In both cases, no noise was perceived.

And what a shame! no martian with hairy face and raven eye has been reported!

Miss Aurélie Bolnot, of Avot said that leaving her home on Wednesday around 06:30 p.m., she saw a flying saucer passing at the height of the forest on the mountain coming from the west and heading south. The spherical shape had an orange glow leaving a trail on its course.

This magazine listed this case:

54 10 13 18H30 LN Avot

Explanations:

Map.

A "saucer" that is, in fact, shaped like a sphere with a trail, is probably a meteor.

Avot is in a hollow, surrounded by hills and forests; which does not allow me to find the direction of observation.
