In the 1990's, French ufologist and author Jean Sider learned in an article from the local newspaper La Dépêche du Pays de Bray, of Forges-les-Eaux, for October 14, 1954, that on October 10, 1954, in the morning, in Forges-les-Eaux in the department of Seine-Maritime, Mr. Fléchelle, guard-forester, and an Italian contractor residing in Forges-les-Eaux, Mr. Antoine "X.", whose last name was not revealed, were in the wood of Epinay, not far from the clay pigeon shooting range.
They suddenly saw a mysterious machine which landed in the site reserved for the shooting. Three hairy men of small size went out, and one of them put his arm on the shoulder of Mr. Fléchelle.
A photographer called later came to take a photograph of the landing site of the object, which had disappeared without leaving traces.
Jean Sider noted that the incident was reported in a mocking manner by a journalist who regards this case as a probable joke, without seeming to have carried out the least investigation.
